United Community Bank is pleased to announce that our parent company, United Community Bancorp, Inc., has reached a merger agreement with Illini Corporation which owns Illini Bank and Farmers State Bank of Camp Point.
This merger will bring together two well-established local banking institutions to better serve its Springfield and Central Illinois customers and communities. While the merger is still subject to Illini shareholder and regulatory approvals, it is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
“United Community Bank looks forward to welcoming Illini Corp customers and employees to UCB,” states Todd Wise, President and CEO of United Community Bank. “This union serves the best interest of all of our customers: Illini customers will have additional opportunities to take advantage of new UCB digital products and services, and customers of all of our banks will be rewarded with a more expansive branch network with more than 40 branches in west central Illinois and northeast Missouri ” Wise emphasized.
Only one UCB Bank location in Auburn, the drive-up facility located at 720 West Jackson St., and one Illini location in Divernon will close as a result of the merger. All other UCB, Illini Bank, and Farmers State Bank of Camp Point locations will remain an important part of the UCB network. Illini Bank locations will adopt the United Community Bank name and brand sometime in 2017.Read the complete Press Release
